Urgent electrical fault support
Help with electrical faults that may be unsafe to leave.
Urgent enquiries are considered subject to location, workload and availability. This is not advertised as a guaranteed 24-hour emergency service.
Examples
Urgent electrical problems.
Do not touch damaged equipment or attempt a repair if there is evidence of overheating, water ingress, smoke or exposed live parts.
Loss of power
Sudden loss of power where the issue appears to be within the property installation.
Repeated tripping
RCD, RCBO or circuit-breaker tripping that cannot be resolved safely by normal user checks.
Unsafe accessories
Damaged, overheated or water-affected sockets, switches and electrical accessories.
Immediate danger
If there is fire, smoke or an immediate risk to life, leave the danger area and call 999. Do not wait for a routine electrical appointment.
Supply problem
Is the fault outside the property?
For a local electricity network power cut or damaged electricity network equipment, call 105. If neighbouring properties are also without power, the fault may be on the electricity network rather than inside the property.
Urgent enquiry
Call and explain what has happened.
Availability is confirmed after the location and nature of the fault are understood.
